Discover the University of Idaho

Fill your college experience with memories and connections that will define you as an individual and empower you for a lifetime by living on campus, participating in some of our amazing student organizations, and exploring the opportunities we offer to grow and learn on a local, state and global level.

Live

All first-year students in Moscow are required to live on campus, as on-campus living is proven to help you succeed while going to college. Our beautiful residential campus offers many great living opportunities including the residence halls and fraternity or sorority chapter facilities, all of which fulfill your first year live-on requirement.

Research has shown that students who live on campus have higher GPAs and graduate faster. Learn more about our policy. Exemptions are considered by the Office of the Dean of Students.

Can’t decide? Then do both!

Enjoy all the benefits of membership in a fraternity or sorority while living in your own residence hall room. Students interested in joining a fraternity or sorority while living in a residence hall should register for fall recruitment and complete the housing application.

Want to live off-campus?

There are a variety of housing options for those who want to live off-campus
