Fraternity & Sorority Life

Fall Formal Recruitment

Formal recruitment is UI's signature orientation event for students interested in Greek life.

The event helps students become acquainted with different fraternities and sororities on campus, who are also actively seeking new members. Students can:

  • Tour chapters on Greek Row
  • Spend time with current members of the chapters they are interested in
  • Attend chapter social events
  • Learn more about chapter history

Grades, talents, activities and interests are all considered in the selection of new members. Students and parents go through orientation events.

Our Greek Community

Find peers with similar interests and values by joining one of our 35 Greek organizations. Members make up more than 30 percent of the student population.
