Professor Emerita Supports Dance Faculty with Endowment Pledge
Diane Walker, UI professor emerita of dance, has pledged $30,000 for the Diane B. Walker Dance Faculty Endowment to support the professional development of full-time dance faculty.
“I hope to reward faculty members and assist in providing a means for them to conduct their creative and scholarly work,” she said. Walker, a longtime supporter, teacher and co-creator of Dancers Drummers Dreamers, hopes to be an inspiration to others who are motivated to create an endowment, but would like to give on a timeline that is most fitting to their individual situation.
For Walker, that meant giving in the form of a flexible endowment. She will give $5,000 annually for five years to fully fund the endowment, along with an additional $1,000 annual gift that will be used for immediate use.
