Tuesday, April 13 2010
Russell Joki and Kathy Canfield-Davis, College of Education, received recognition by the Idaho Association of School Administrators for their work editing the IASA journal Perspectives. Joki and Canfield-Davis earned praise from the association's executive director and president for having one of the best organizational journals, having the ability to recruit members as authors, and "giving voice to our best practices." The journal is published twice a year and addresses K-12 administrative positions ranging from school principals to superintendents. It covers applied research priorities in areas like supervision of personnel, professional learning communities, response to intervention and rural schooling. Joki and Canfield Davis received IASA's Executive Director's Award of Recognition in February at the group's annual conference.
