Screen on the Green Movie Series Begins July 9 at U of I

MOSCOW, Idaho — June 24, 2019 — Feel-good throwbacks, fantasy and a galaxy far, far away will take center stage at the University of Idaho during this year’s free Screen on the Green summer movies series.

Sponsored by the Department of Student Involvement and Vandal Entertainment, the outdoor movies are family friendly and shown at approximately 8:45 p.m., primarily on Thursdays, starting July 9 on the Theophilus Tower Lawn. Patrons are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs and movie snacks from home.

In the event of bad weather, Screen on the Green will be held in the International Ballroom of the Bruce M. Pitman Center.

The schedule includes:

  • Thursday, July 9: “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil” (PG)
  • Thursday, July 16: “Shrek” (PG)
  • Thursday, July 23: “Just Mercy” (PG-13)
  • Thursday, July 30: “Field of Dreams” (PG)
  • Thursday, Aug. 6: “Onward” (PG)
  • Thursday, Aug. 13: “Dirty Dancing” (PG-13)
  • Saturday, Aug. 22: “Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker” (PG-13)
  • Thursday, Aug. 27: “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood” (PG)

Theophilus Tower Lawn is located off Paradise Creek Street, between Line Street and Stadium Drive in Moscow. Free public parking is available in the Orange and Silver lots off of Line and Third streets and in the Silver lots off of Paradise Creek Street and Stadium Drive.

Due to concerns about spreading COVID-19, residents are asked not to come if they’ve been feeling sick or have been exposed to someone who has been sick. Attendees are asked to maintain 6 feet between groups.
