JAMM’s Dane Claussen Is Nominated for VP of International Scholars Organization

Dane S. Claussen, lecturer of strategic communications in the School of Journalism and Mass Media, is one of two official nominees for vice president of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC). AEJMC, with 4,000 members in 80 countries, is the primary U.S.-based professional organization for faculty and graduate students in journalism (on all platforms), mass communication, media studies, public relations, advertising and photojournalism.
If elected, Dane would serve one year as vice president, then automatically move up, serving one year as president-elect, one year as president and one year as past president, all as a member of AEJMC’s Board of Directors.
The other nominee for vice president is Linda Aldoory, an associate dean at the University of Maryland – College Park.
Dane has been nominated for AEJMC vice president before, but lost the Spring 2017 election to current AEJMC Past President David Perlmutter, the communications dean at Texas Tech.
