Farjahan Shawon Receives Athena Student Excellence Award

Farjahan Shawon, a Ph.D. candidate in the Curriculum and Instruction Department, has been awarded the Athena Student Excellence Award for her commitment to educational access and equality for all. Shawon's dissertation research is motivated by a personal passion to enable quality education for communities across the globe, using online education tools to overcome geographic boundaries. Shawon will be acknowledged tomorrow, May 6, at the Athena End of Year Business Meeting, and at a postponed Women of the Year Awards ceremony this fall.
