Climate Skepticism and Pro-Environmentalism Often Coincide
February 26, 2020
Many climate change skeptics hold pro-environmental views, according to a U of I study by researchers Kristin Haltinner and Dilshani Sarathchandra. The researchers interviewed 33 Idahoan climate skeptics and found that many had concerns about pollution and deforestation and supported policies for clean air and water and alternative energy sources. Published in the journal Contexts, the study suggests framing conversations about climate policy around environmental goals may garner wider support than focusing on climate change.
