Prestigious Fellowship Will Support Doctoral Student’s Research in the Arctic
July 19, 2019
Andrew Maguire, a doctoral student in the College of Natural Resources, was recently awarded the Future Investigators in NASA Earth and Space Science and Technology fellowship. Maguire, who is based at the McCall Field Campus, was one of 120 students across the nation selected for the honor. The fellowship provides $90,000 over two years. It will support Maguire’s dissertation research in the Arctic, studying how efficiently trees use light for fixing atmospheric carbon dioxide at the forest-tundra ecotone, where the trees of the boreal forest meet the treeless Arctic plains.
