CDIL Librarians Release 1.0 Version of Grant-Funded Digital Scholarship Tool
November 21, 2019
CollectionBuilder, a tool which is being funded through a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services, helps users generate digital collections and online exhibits from a spreadsheet of metadata. Developers Evan Williamson, Olivia Wikle and Devin Becker recently taught a workshop and presented on the tool at the Digital Library Federation Forum in Tampa. The team continues to develop the tool and build partnerships with other digital libraries and librarians across the country who plan on using it. The library currently uses this tool to build and update their digital collections, as well as to teach students about digital archival practices. The tool's development was partly inspired by work done in the Center for Digital Inquiry and Learning with history Professor Matthew Fox Amato's History 404 class in fall 2018. More information is available online. Contact Director of The Center for Digital Inquiry and Learning Devin Becker for more information.
