U of I's Student Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists Receives Regional Honors

The University of Idaho's student chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists, a student organization in the School of Journalism and Mass Media, has been recognized as a regional leader in the organization. U of I's chapter was named the "Outstanding Campus Chapter" and the "Campus Program of the Year" for Region 10, which includes Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington.

Both awards are given annually for overall excellence in supporting the society's missions, members and profession. As the regional winner, the U of I chapter is a finalist for the national award, which will be announced during the society's Excellence in Journalism 2019 conference Sept. 5-7. Congratulations to all the chapter members and advisor Steven Smith.
