Chair of English Department Scott Slovic Edits Book of Ecocritical Essays

Department of English's Scott Slovic, along with University of Hawai'i, Manoa's Peter Quigley, edited a book of essays titled "Ecocritical Aesthetics: Language, Beauty, and the Environment." The book, which was published in April, discusses how beauty influences our relationships with places, other species, and our own lives. The essays suggest that beauty sways how we experience the world and also inspires cultural change. Slovic specializes in ecocriticism and Native American, Western American and environmental literature.
