The Idaho Student Union Building (ISUB) and Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) sustained flood damage in the basement on Friday, Nov. 1. The building is closed while the issue is managed and damage assessed.

Update: 3 p.m. — Modified ISUB Dining Options to Return
Despite the ISUB closure, Vandals Dining will be bringing back some services on Thursday, Nov. 14, including limited Chick-fil-A and Qdoba offerings. A large tent located outside the ISUB will be open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, providing options such as coffee, snacks, sandwiches, salads and beverages. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., there will be a modified Chick-fil-A and Qdoba menu serving the Chick-fil-A original sandwich and Qdoba’s steak, ground beef or impossible burritos. Dining dollars, cash and credit cards will be accepted, and seating will be available inside Einstein Bros.

Update: 8 a.m.
Pedestrians should use caution when walking around the ISUB/TLC area as construction crews work to install a new electrical transformer. The work, including pouring concrete and installing the transformer, is expected to take two weeks.
While the construction site is fenced and flaggers are helping control both foot and industrial traffic in the area, caution should be taken, especially by those using the TLC classrooms.

Update: 11 a.m.
Some classes have returned to the Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) today, Nov. 11 as temporary power is brought online in the building. All class locations for the rest of the semester can be found in the regular online course list. Classes will remain in these locations through the remainder of the semester. While some classrooms are reopened, power outlets are not operational in the classrooms at this time. Staff will continue to work in relocated offices. The ISUB remains closed.
Nov. 8, 2019
Update: 5 p.m.
Some classes will return to the TLC Monday, Nov. 11, as temporary power is brought online in the building. Any classes not returning to the TLC on Monday have been relocated to alternate rooms with the requested technology. Review the online Class Schedule for an updated list of class locations. While some classrooms will be reopened, power outlets will not be operational at this time. Staff will continue to work in relocated offices. Students needing services of the offices typically located in the TLC/ISUB can get assistance at the relocated offices. The ISUB remains closed. All activities for the remainder of the semester that were previously scheduled in the building have been relocated. No new event space requests will be filled this semester.
Nov. 6, 2019
Update: 4 p.m.
The ISUB/TLC will remain closed through Sunday, Nov. 10 as crews continue to work to repair the electrical system damaged by flooding in the basement. All classes and events through Sunday have been relocated. While work continues, the timing for reopening the buildings remains uncertain. The goal is to open limited classrooms in the TLC by Monday, Nov. 11. But, as a precaution, a backup schedule of class relocations is being organized by the Registrar’s Office. Events currently scheduled in the ISUB will be relocated or rescheduled through Thanksgiving.
