UI Communications Launches Employee Facebook Group
October 17, 2016
In response to interest from last spring's employee communications survey, University Communications & Marketing has launched a private employee Facebook group. UI employees who are interested in using Facebook to receive and share work-related information can join the group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/uidahoemployees. You can also search for the group name "UI Faculty and Staff News & Events." Once joined, you can modify your notifications to receive as many or as a few notices about group postings as you wish.
The group is managed by the University Communications & Marketing Office, with support from members of Staff Council. It is intended to help UI employees engage with each other and stay informed about activities on campus, both social and work-related. While employees are encouraged to post items of interest and have conversation, use is subject to Facebook Terms of Service and university policies, including APM 30.12, Acceptable Use of Technology resources, and posts containing inappropriate content, foul language, threats, or negative statements about fellow employees or others will be deleted, at the discretion of Facebook or the group managers. Conducting personal business, any non-university business or political campaigning will not be allowed. This Facebook group is also subject to the Idaho Public Records Act and any post in it is open to public records requests.
This Facebook group is a redundant source of communication and is not a primary source of official announcements. Questions about the group can be directed to Internal Communications Manager Savannah Tranchell at email@example.com or 208-885-9156.
