Registration begins early in the Summer. Notifications will be sent in late July with additional section information. Once a student is registered, Student Accounts will mail bills and instructions for fee payments.

Orientation Week is required and begins August 12, 2024. Classes at the law school will begin the following week, starting August 19. We recommend that you are settled into your living arrangements in early August so you can be prepared for all of the activities and programming during Orientation.

Housing depends on which location you plan to attend.

1. Moscow: You may visit the Housing and Residence Life website to learn more about housing opportunities.
2. Boise: U of I Boise does not have formal student housing. There are, however, several apartment complexes, condos, townhomes and homes for sale or rent in the region. For a complete list of resources, please consult the University of Idaho Boise website.

All students who enroll at Idaho Law, prior to the start of classes, must provide a final, official, degree-conferring transcript from their undergraduate institution. Please send your final, official, degree-conferring transcript to the Law School Admissions Council (LSAC). It is best practice to ask the institution to confirm that the transcript requested will indicate the degree awarded, as it sometimes takes 4-6 weeks after graduation for this to occur.

Recent graduates will need to send a FINAL, official transcript to LSAC if the previous transcript did not indicate an awarded degree. All enrolling students should review their LSAC account to make sure a FINAL, official transcript was submitted to LSAC, otherwise they will not be able to register for classes.

Students interested in deferring admission should submit a formal written request explaining the circumstances to lawadmit@uidaho.edu. Requests will be reviewed case-by-case by the Admission Committee. Should a deferral be approved, a written confirmation will be sent to the applicant with a contract offer detailing the terms. Seat deferrals are limited to one year and require submitting a new application by January 15 the following year.
