You’ve been accepted to the University of Idaho College of Law. You are now on your way to a promising law career. We hope you give the U of I College of Law as much consideration as we did when we considered your application. To help you with this important decision, we’ve provided some resources that will help you learn more about the U of I College of Law when you enroll this fall.
You will register for your classes in early summer. You will be notified in late July of your class section number and your legal research and writing group number. Student Accounts will begin mailing bill and fee payment instructions once your registration is active.
New Student Orientation is held the week immediately preceding the first day of fall semester classes. Attendance is mandatory. All students must attend each day of the orientation program. Class start on August 20, 2018.
Housing depends on which location you plan to attend.
- Moscow: You may visit the Housing and Residence Life website to learn more about housing opportunities.
- Boise: UI Boise does not have formal student housing. There are, however, several apartment complexes, condos, townhomes and homes for sale or rent in the region. For a complete list of resources, please consult the University of Idaho Boise website.
In accordance with the university policy, we must archive official transcripts for all of our incoming students. Please request an official transcript from every undergraduate and graduate institution you have attended, whether or not you received a degree from that institution. This includes course work completed after your received your degree(s). Should you fail to timely submit your official transcript(s) to the Office of Admissions prior to the start of Orientation (Monday, August 13, 2018), you may not be allowed to attend class until you have met this requirement. Please note: transcript photocopies submitted as part of your LSAC CAS Report do not meet this American Bar Association requirement.
Please have your transcripts mailed to:

Admitted students have the option to defer their acceptance for one year on a case by case basis. Students interested in deferring should e-mail their request with a brief explanation to firstname.lastname@example.org. The request would then need to be approved by the Director of Admissions. This process typically takes 1-2 weeks. If a deferral is granted, a letter will be sent to the student confirming the decision. There is no guarantee for the same amount of scholarships as the original admission year, but students will be evaluated for scholarships with the new pool of applicants and awarded on that basis.
