Nancy Luebbert has been the Director of Academic Success at the University of Idaho College of Law since 2001. She earned a J.D. magna cum laude from the University of Idaho College of Law in 1998 and an A.B. summa cum laude from Dartmouth College in 1978 with highest honors in history and honors in religion. She was admitted to the Idaho State Bar in 1998. She served an extern clerkship with the Honorable Thomas G. Nelson of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and upon graduation clerked for the Honorable Wayne L. Kidwell of the Idaho Supreme Court. Ms. Luebbert has also practiced appellate criminal defense as a solo practitioner under contract to the Idaho State Appellate Public Defender.
Before entering law school, Ms. Luebbert was a career wildland firefighter with the BLM Alaska Fire Service. She also practiced public history as a historic records surveyor and museum curator, and she trained in museology at Colonial Williamsburg and in the editing of historical documents at the Institute of Early American History and Culture.
Ms. Luebbert is a member of several professional organizations including the Association of Academic Support Educators, National Academic Advising Association, Idaho Legal History Society, Idaho Women Lawyers, Raymond C. McNichols Inn of Court, Organization of American Historians, and Phi Beta Kappa.
Academic Success at the College of Law
Ms. Luebbert oversees programming and provides academic counseling designed to help all students achieve their personal best at the College of Law and to pass the bar upon graduation. She also assists law students in creating academic plans based on their goals, personal interests, and areas of intended practice as well as graduation and emphasis requirements.
