The Idaho Critical Legal Studies Journal at the University of Idaho School of Law invites proposals for its annual symposium, which will be held via Zoom in April of 2021. This year’s topic, The Future of Work, will focus on COVID-19’s disparate impact on women and communities of color in the workforce, as well other contemporary issues in workforce law and policy in the United States. Second-year law students Hayden Cottle and Quindaro Frieder worked for Idaho Military Legal Alliance (IMLA) in Boise this summer, writing and creating three brochures about the rules pertaining to Veterans and Service Animals. The brochures are audience-focused and titled Service Animals: Do I Qualify?, Rights of the Business, and Rights of the Handler. Read more
During a COVID-19 Summer, 2L Brad Wanken Worked with the International Rescue Committee in Boise to Secure Settlement for Refugees

Second-year law student Brad Wanken spent his summer working globally from home with the immigration team at the International Rescue Committee in Boise. The IRC is a one of a handful of refugee placement organizations in the US, working to settle clients from all over the world. Read more

Judicial clerkship provides water rights experience in southern Idaho

Riley Newton worked with then-Professor, now Judge, Ramalingam to secure a judicial clerkship in Twin Falls with Judge Wildman, the Special Masters, and the staff attorney at the 5th Judicial District Court. The 5th District is designated as the primary court for adjudicating water rights. Read more
Summer in Plummer shows student that law has an impact on people’s daily lives

Garrett Brown worked with the Native American Law program to find the right internship for the summer of 2019. He worked with the Coeur d’Alene Tribal Court in Plummer, Idaho under Chief Judge Robert Wakefield, with financial support from a national NALSA Indian Country Scholarship and the College of Law Public Interest Fund.
