Emphasis Areas
The College of Law offers three areas of emphasis for students who wish to focus on and take specific courses in that field. Each emphasis has expert faculty with decades of experience who provide hands-on fieldwork and clinical skills.
Business Law
Students in the Business Law Emphasis gain experience in the practice of business law through a focused curriculum and clinical and externship opportunities. There are two tracks in this emphasis: Transactional Law and Intellectual Property Law. Available in Moscow and Boise.
Intellectual Property Law Track
The Intellectual Property Law track of the Business Law Emphasis is designed with a focus on the legal issues that surround the protection of intellectual property and management of intellectual property rights. Available in Moscow and Boise.
Native American Law
The Native American Law emphasis offers outreach events, law student summer externship placements, and collaboration on projects in regional tribal communities, all under the supervision of an expert in the field. Available in Moscow.
Natural Resources and Environmental Law
This unique program in natural resources and environmental law focuses on developing sophisticated strategies and solutions to the world’s critical water shortage. Students may participate in the Idaho Symposium on Energy in the West, Environmental Law Society, and the NREL Edition (Natural Resources and Environmental Law) of the Idaho Law Review, among others. Available in Moscow and Boise (3rd year only).
