Attending: Good to Know Details

Vandal Overnight Games is open to current students, to all employees and to community members. Attend one specific session or spend the whole evening.

Vandal Overnight Games is popular with local teens and families. However, please supervise any children you bring. The event is geared to young adults and we cannot guarantee the suitability of everything a child might see or hear. No childcare is available at the event.

Registration

Registration is free at the door.

If you are a student or employee of the University of Idaho, we will swipe your Vandal Card; otherwise we will ask for an email address for a follow-up survey. You can turn down this survey if you prefer.

You will receive a wristband entitling the wearer to free food. You can leave the event at any time, and if you keep your wristband you can return later if needed.

Children under 18 not accompanied by a parent should carry school identification.

Parking & Transportation

Weekend visitors park free in gold, red, blue, purple and silver lots in all regular spaces. Do not park in marked special-use spaces such as delivery, handicapped or facilities spaces. Check our parking map (PDF) for detailed locations.

If you are being dropped off and picked up, come to the Idaho Commons and Teaching and Learning Center at the University of Idaho.

What To Bring

Gaming Equipment: you can bring your own gaming systems — we'll even have a special network set up — but it’s not required.

Backpacks are okay.

The university is not responsible for the loss of any personal property during the event. Please keep your property secured.

Dress code: none

Food

Event Food: free and complimentary from 5 p.m. – 10 p.m.

Food Allergies: free event food provided is not labeled for allergies

Food is provided by Sodexo, the food service at University of Idaho. The menu typically includes hamburgers and fountain drinks. If you need different food, or food outside the meal hour, you may bring your own or visit The Grid convenience store.

Please place trash in designated containers and let a staffer know if containers are full.

Alcohol is not permitted.

Getting Help

If you need help, please ask anyone wearing a staff/volunteer ID badge. An information kiosk is staffed throughout the event. If you need to contact the event staff during the event, email us at vandal-overnight@uidaho.edu or call 208-885-8648 (VOGU). In an emergency, call 208-885-7054 for campus security or 911 for emergency services.

Any participant behaving inappropriately will be asked to leave event.
