Honoring a Promise to his Father
After Jonathan Madrid’s father passed away, he dedicated his life to honoring a promise that he had made to his dad - to stay involved in music. Without family funds, he relies on scholarships to further his education.
“I've been working hard, saving money and putting myself through school,” Madrid said. “But still, you are the reason that I am here today.”
Through his education at U of I, he has learned how to work through hard problems, grow as an individual and make incredible music. He is an aspiring music educator who hopes to one day help others do the same.
“Your donations, belief in education and investment in the future of others make it possible for students like me to dream and to achieve those dreams,” he said. “Thank you for investing in the future of others.”
