4-H short-term volunteers are also needed to enhance the 4-H program by providing training and education for volunteers and/or members in a needed skill and/or competency or by serving as a judge.
Topic teachers and judges are needed in the following areas:
- Project interviews
- Small animals
- Style show (modeling)
- Public speaking
- Handwork from Our Heritage
- Cake decorating
- Livestock judging

Funding is available on a competitive basis to help 4-H volunteers pay to attend leadership opportunities in Idaho, the western region and at national 4-H leadership events.

Distinguished Service Award
The Distinguished Service Award recognizes outstanding volunteer service to the county and district. It is the highest honor awarded to 4-H volunteers in Idaho.
County award recipients are considered for district recognition and district winners are considered for the statewide award.
