Spring Garden Festival
Join gardeners and horticulturists from Canyon County for a day of learning.

- 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Caldwell, ID. Sessions at UI Extension, Canyon County (501 Main St.) and Caldwell Train Depot (701 Main St.).

The festival features four different tracks so that you can take the classes most relevant to you. Please tell us which track you are interested in when you register
Classes will cover:
- Tree planting
- Tree selection for our area
- Training and pruning
- Common tree problems in our area
Junior Master Gardener Volunteering
Professional audit credits for teachers.
This track is for teachers and volunteers who work with ages 8-18. It uses concepts from 4-H Youth Development, which are designed to adapt to many different contexts. Topics include:
- Positive youth development
- Gardening with children
- JMG activities
Idaho pesticide certification credits: 6.
This track is designed for those who apply pesticides professionally and privately. The school covers:
- Pesticide safety and label reading
- Emerging insects for Idaho
- The Dirty Dozen
- Boring insects
Our Master Gardeners teach these general gardening classes for beginning and advanced gardeners. Topics include:
- Companion planting
- Trellising tomatoes
- Worm composting
Planning Your Day
A plant sale will be held. It will benefit junior master gardeners from 4-H Youth Development in Canyon County.
Parking is available beside the train depot and behind the UI Extension office.
There will be an hour for lunch. American, Mexican and Chinese restaurants are within walking distance. Albertsons grocery is within walking distance. You may bring your own lunch.
