4-H Clubs

A 4-H club is a group that meets and is run locally, so it can respond to local needs.

A club can meet year-round. It can focus on one project area or encompass a range of activities.

Club members typically complete one or more age-appropriate projects per year and present them at the county fair.

Who can join a community club?

Youth ages 5 to 18 can join as members. Some projects have age limits. Cloverbuds is designed specifically for ages 5 to 7.

Youth in every county, and in cities, suburbs, towns and rural settings join 4-H clubs.

Fees vary by county. Basic fees are usually less than $25 per youth or $40 per family per year. Some projects have additional costs.

Some activities and programs do not require joining a club.

When can you join?

You can enroll in 4-H at any time during the year. Some projects have enrollment deadlines to show them in the county fair. The 4-H year begins on Oct. 1.
