Project Updates

“Working to advance the field of agricultural technology, I have researched the production of nitrogen oxides (NOx) using dielectric plasma. We were able to produce 225g per liter of NOx. I want to add to my research equipment to measure air quantity, concentration and pH to understand relation between NOx and the amount of input.

This project has helped me be a critical thinker and innovator. At the same time, my effort to make agricultural production efficient will help to solve the problem of feeding the growing population.”

Project Details

I have worked with the dielectric plasma reactor and at PanHandle Animal Shelter in Sandpoint, Idaho. I understand the agriculture of the Czech Republic and the education system of America. I have organized interactive sessions for high school students.

As a scholar, I have been working on research to find the better alternatives to the existing fertilizer production process. I have explored programming, designing and building systems. I am also majoring in agricultural education. It has helped me understand education, teaching and childhood development. I am learning about how special education works.

To help my overarching understanding of how engineering industry works, I am learning about computer programming and designing. I have also been working on building my branding skills by learning about web design and illustrations. I attended a conference where I learned about building professionalism, dealing with change and leadership skills.

I understood more about global food industry when I got the chance to travel to the Czech Republic. I interacted with producers, professors and agricultural industrialists, where I learned about their preparation to feed a growing population. As a part of community service in Sandpoint, Idaho, I got the opportunity to explore how a nonprofit organization works.

This semester, I am taking classes in special education. Understanding universal design and ways to accommodate students with special needs will help me prepare for a world with a diverse audience. Being part of community service helps me to understand prevailing problems of society.

Manage the Nitrogen Cycle

It doesn’t offer as catchy a label as “global warming,” but human-induced changes in the global nitrogen cycle pose engineering challenges just as critical as coping with the environmental consequences of burning fossil fuels for energy.
