The Engineering of Business or the Business of Engineering?
U of I Engineering Dean’s Lecture and the CBE Jack Morris Executive Speaker Series
Monday, Sept. 17, 2018
Albertson Building Room 101
Today’s technology can make the integration of business and engineering a driving force for changing the game in markets ripe for transformation. Join a conversation led by two Idaho Engineers turned MBAs turned entrepreneurs, Dan Ivanoff (ME ’79) and Kent Ivanoff (ChE ’86), about that very topic. While neither will lecture on a singular path forward, both will share their experiences on how they’ve used elements of both disciplines to transform very different markets nationally. You won’t get a playbook for orchestrating your professional path forward but you will get a provocative and unvarnished take on what’s required to drive change and create real value — at least from the perspective of two alums who have each punched way above their weight class in terms of what they envisioned for themselves as undergraduates in Moscow.
