Undergraduate Degrees & Programs
The mechanical engineering undergraduate program at the University of Idaho is designed to prepare students for entry into professional practice or for continuing their education at the master's and doctoral levels. Engineering sciences, physical sciences, mathematics, communications, humanities and social sciences are the basis for our curriculum. Computer applications are emphasized in course work. Students are encouraged to develop individual interests through the selection of technical electives. Students complete their study through our nationally recognized capstone design program culminating each spring with the Engineering Design EXPO.
The undergraduate program in mechanical engineering is calculus based; you should enjoy math and science, and have a strong interest in algebra, calculus, physics and chemistry. At U of I you'll benefit from a variety of learning experiences including lectures, labs and one-on-one work sessions.
