Frequently Asked Questions

This is a great question! It can be overwhelming to purchase condoms when there are so many options to choose from. In the United States, companies who manufacture and sell condoms must follow the Food and Drug Administration's safety standards. The key is to ensure condoms have not been stored in very hot environments, been stored in your wallet for a long time, or are expired. When used correctly and consistently, condoms across the board have the same level of effectiveness, regardless of brand.

Eating well can be a challenge, and eating with a food allergy can seem extremely difficult.

Bob’s Place, our resident dining facility, as well as the numerous retail locations on campus, all offer many choices to accommodate gluten-free, vegetarian, non-dairy, nut allergies, vegan and other special dietary needs.

If you are uncertain about what campus offers, ask our helpful and friendly staff. You can always call the campus dietitian for specific nutrition counseling at (208) 885-6717. Also, feel free email campus dining or call (208) 885-6070.

If you think you are experiencing meningitis symptoms, consult the Student Health Clinic or your regular physician immediately.

There are many types of meningitis, including bacterial, viral, fungal, parasitic and non-infectious. Common symptoms include:

  • Stiff Neck
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Increased sensitivity to light
  • Altered mental status or confusion

If you do not have meningitis, it might be helpful to talk to someone at the Counseling & Testing Center about stress and worry. Counseling is free to students and can help provide tools to handle stress, feelings of worry and anxiety. Schedule an appointment by calling (208) 885-6716.

The Student Health Clinic on campus refers students who are looking for abortion services to Planned Parenthood in Pullman, Washington. While abortions are not performed on campus, all UI students can access medical care at the Student Health Clinic and free counseling services at the Counseling & Testing Center.
