Privacy Policy

University of Idaho Career Services is committed to protecting the privacy of personal information of students and alumni.

Career Services contracts with Handshake, an online career development system, to provide U of I students and alumni with a resource for job listings, resume services and on-campus interview scheduling.

Student and alumni profile data, resumes and accompanying documents will reside on secure servers owned and managed by Handshake. Handshake® servers are hosted by Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Collection and access to student information is governed by U of I and federal policy under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), as well as the University of Idaho Computer Use Policy. Information collected will be used by Career Services to provide tailored services to users. Student/alumni data may also be used by Career Services for reporting purposes to assist in program improvements. Data used will be in aggregate form only.

Job and internship postings placed through Handshake® may or may not be reviewed before posting. Users are urged to research postings and use discretion when applying for positions. Do not disclose social security information, bank account numbers, credit card information or other highly sensitive information when applying for jobs and internships.
