Science Communication

Workshops, classes and resources on this page are provided to help scientists and engineers (any researcher in STEM) communicate complex topics in clear, vivid and engaging ways. This leads to improved understanding by the public, media, public officials and others outside of their own discipline. Events and opportunities for the UI community to communicate their research to the general public in such ways are provided in the get involved links.

Science Communication Course(s)

INTR 504: ST Communicating Your Science — The goal of this class is to teach early career scientists how to share their research effectively with any audience type, with special emphasis on the general public. The course covers both writing and oral presentation skills. Offered in Fall and Spring semesters.

Science Communication Workshop

Offered once a year, this one-day workshop will have professional science communication instruction and hands on activities for University of Idaho students, postdocs and faculty.
