Mr. Chip Corsi - "Righteously Right or Effectively Right – a Case for Pragmatism and Public Ownership in the Management and Conservation of Natural Resources."

December 6
3:30-4:20pm Pacific Time
College of Natural Resources Room 203 A

Chip Corsi started his career with Idaho Department of Fish and Game in 1980, and with stints as a fish culturist, a fisheries biologist and an environmental staff biologist. In 2003 he was promoted from the position of State Fisheries Manager to Regional Supervisor in the Idaho panhandle, where he oversees implementation of fisheries, wildlife, enforcement, information and habitat programs.

Chip earned a B.S. in Fisheries Resource Management from the University of Idaho, and an M.S. in Zoology from Idaho State University. He currently serves on the University of Idaho’s College of Natural Resources Advisory Board, is a past president of the Idaho Chapter of the American Fisheries Society, a past president of the University of Idaho’s College of Natural Resources Alumni Board, and a Fellow of the National Conservation Leadership Institute. Chip particularly enjoys working collaboratively with other stakeholders to resolve natural resource challenges, and promote effective natural resource stewardship. He is a recipient of the CNR “Celebrating Natural Resources” Award, the National Trout Unlimited Conservation Award for Professionals, and has twice been recognized as Employee of the Year by Idaho Department of Fish and Game.

Chip has been married for 38 years, has two grown children (one a CNR Grad and fish biologist, the other a UI grad and elementary school teacher), fine children-in-law, and two fine grandsons. We all enjoy the outdoors, with fishing, hunting, floating rivers, camping and gardening high on the list of things to do and talk about…that and whether or not the Yankees will win the world series.

Mr. Chip Corsi
