Frequently Asked Questions

Registration for the 2017 festival is now CLOSED.

Late fees are:
$75.00 per ensemble and/or combo
$25.00 per soloist

We understand that sometimes cutting a check takes time and want to work with you! Registration and late fees are based off of your registration DATE, not dependent upon when your payment is received. If you need an invoice in order to process payment, please select the PO payment option.

We encourage all junior division groups to attend on Thursday of the Festival. However, if you are unable to do so, you may perform on the corresponding high school day. Vocal groups perform on Friday and instrumental on Saturday.

Due to space constraints, we are unable to provide storage. We encourage students to store belongings on the buses when at all possible.

Performance time for all ensembles, combos and soloists starts the moment they step onto the stage. Please allow a few moments for microphone adjustments as necessary.

Immediately check-in with the greeter at your site. From there, volunteers will direct you where you need to go.

Sabian Cymbal Company has generously donated cymbals for use at every site. All groups are required to use these cymbals. However, you may supplement if you require special effects type cymbals. Also, if the setup needs to be changed due to physical issues, such as a left-handed drummer, please note this on the Performance Setup Form.

Due to tight schedules and a limited number of rooms, the only rehearsal time provided is your allotted warm-up time. Please do not arrive at your site early and expect to have a rehearsal space.

Video and non-flash photography are allowed in all student performance sites. Non-flash photography is allowed in some clinics. Videotaping or audio taping of clinics is absolutely prohibited. Additionally, all video recorders, audio recorders and cameras are prohibited at all events in the Kibbie Dome.

We are happy to have Musical Images on campus to take group photos for schools this year. They will be set up in a single central location.

The Idaho Commons in the center of campus has a food court with a variety of food options and seating for groups. Also, there is a large dormitory cafeteria in the Wallace Complex on Sixth Street.

Yes! Just contact the ticket office to coordinate details. They can be reached toll free at 1-88-88-UIDAHO.

Festival t-shirts and memorabilia will available at the Bruce M. Pitman Center, VandalStore, the Idaho Commons, and during the concerts at the Kibbie Dome.

Lost and found items will be held at the site where found until the end of the day and then taken to Volunteer Headquarters. After the festival, all unclaimed lost and found items will be moved to the Jazz Festival office and held for 1 week.
