Welcome from the Dean

Welcome! Thank you for looking around the CLASS website and all the engaging programs we offer. I became dean of the College of Letters, Arts, and Social Sciences in 2014. It is very exciting for me to be a part of the growth and transformation of this great university and our tremendous college. In CLASS, we are exceptionally proud of our degree programs in the humanities and social sciences. All of them feature awarding-winning and well-known faculty and extraordinarily dedicated staff who often form life-long mentoring relationships with students. Please take some time to explore our college website to learn more about CLASS, our academic degrees and our signature activities.

If you are a student, we’d love to hear from you, so please contact us for more information at If you are an alumnus or alumna or a lover of anthropology, international studies, history, journalism and mass media, literature, modern languages, music, philosophy, political science, psychology and communication studies, sociology or theater, this is the perfect time to deepen your engagement. Please email us and let us know where you are and what you are doing. Join us in building a bright future for the college and for the university!

Go Vandals!
