FAQ

Applications are accepted throughout the year and processed on a rolling basis. The final application deadline is April 1. Applications received after the final deadline may be considered on a space-available basis. A new cohort starts every other year, with the next cohorts starting in 2018 and 2020.

Students are selected based on an overall evaluation of their application portfolio. A significant factor in selection is an applicant’s potential for contribution to the program based on professional and management experience. We require a minimum of five years of significant work experience. We seek to create a diverse cohort that represents a wide range of education backgrounds, industries, companies, and positions.

The Admission Committee understands that most applicants have been out of school for some time and therefore there is not a minimum GPA requirement. More emphasis is placed on an applicant’s career progression and achievements. Although a bachelor’s degree is required, the degree need not have been in a business field. The integrated curriculum and course work is designed to develop these competencies.

The GMAT is not required if your undergraduate degree is from an accredited university. In some special cases we may ask you to take the exam. Please contact us directly by calling 208.885.0555 to discuss the GMAT.

Yes, interviews are conducted after an initial review of your application. Typically, an EMBA Admissions representative will schedule the interview at your location.

The 22-month program fee is $44,100. The fee is equally divided among four academic semesters. The program fee includes: instructional fees; textbooks and course materials; meals and lodging at August Campus Week sessions in Moscow; and light breakfast, lunch and breaks on class days. Students are responsible for their own lodging costs in Coeur d’Alene. We have a partnership with the Coeur d'Alene Resort for a special rate for EMBA students. A laptop computer is required and will not be provided. Upon acceptance into the EMBA program, a $1,500 non-refundable deposit is required to hold a seat in the class. The deposit will be deducted from the first year’s fee.

There are a few primary sources of loans for Executive MBA students:

Federal Stafford Direct Loan
Graduate G-PLUS Loan
Private MBA Tuition Loan
Veterans’ Affairs Education Benefits (depending on eligibility)

To apply for a Federal Stafford Direct Loan and Graduate PLUS Loan, fill out a
Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The University of Idaho’s federal financial aid code for the FAFSA is 001626. If you are accepted for admission to the Executive MBA Program and your FAFSA is complete, the University of Idaho will send you a financial aid award letter indicating your eligibility for the various available loans. At that time you may accept or decline all or part of these loans. Student loans are dispersed into student accounts each semester.

We encourage you to visit with your organization about educational benefits.
