Experience working as a team. The activities available at UI give students the opportunity to learn how to function within a team. The value is in knowing your own personal strength and when to lean on others or plan for personal development.
The true college experience! Highlights include but are not limited to: a gorgeous college campus, intimate upper division class sizes, social and philanthropic activities, small town, and enormous PRIDE. Go Vandals!
I am currently the production planner/scheduler for Simplot’s largest potato facility, located right here in Idaho. I am responsible for optimizing the production schedule for five production lines which run 24/7 over 300 days/year. My team is responsible the procurement and supply management for the inputs needed for all manufacturing supplies.
My greatest accomplishment is being the Project Team Lead for the equipment selection, design, commissioning, and start-up of a world class potato manufacturing facility.
I would teach Intro to Food Safety. My first class was with Dr. Culbertson. He was so enthusiastic and had unlimited stories from his industry experience. It got me ‘hooked’. I would want to inspire future students to join the food industry. Everyone has to eat. Food safety is not going away, if anything it is becoming more relevant.
Study something that excites you. Understand that your career will take you to places you never thought you may go. Don’t paint yourself into a box.
