Undergraduate Programs

The Department of Animal and Veterinary Science offers four undergraduate program options focused on business, production, dairy and pre-veterinary.

B.S. Business

Learn business fundamentals such as management, marketing, accounting and communication as they apply to livestock businesses.

Examine all aspects of milk production, from the physiology of lactation to the management of a modern dairy.

Fulfill all the academic requirements for application to an accredited four-year college of veterinary medicine.

Study the animal sciences, including reproduction, nutrition, growth and health of various kinds of livestock.

Animal Science Minor

This minor will complement any agricultural or life sciences major. Explore a broad range of animal science topics, including animal production, nutrition, meat science and species science (horse, beef, dairy or sheep options).

Graduate Programs

Choose an area of specialization, learn research protocols, conduct literature reviews, design and execute experiments and interpret and validate data. Select a specialization in animal growth, nutrition or reproduction. You'll have opportunities to work with professors who actively conduct research in areas like cloning, breeding, pregnancy, lactation and the health of animals and the environment.
