Outside the Classroom

Internships
Provide technical and financial assistance to farmers and ranchers with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, research legislation affecting agriculture through the U.S. Congress, or write marketing materials and publications for the Idaho Bean Commission.

Study Abroad
Deepen your understanding of agricultural education—and the world—by studying aboard. Visit countries like New Zealand to gain a new perspective on Agriculture, Peru to discover how mango farmers package and market their products, Taiwan to see how farms are organized to get the most out of the country’s small size or India to gain a new perspective on the global marketplace.

Get Involved
Network and have fun by joining one of the many student organizations available to the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences students. For example, help the Collegiate FFA team manage livestock judging at the Latah County Fair, hear special presentations by agriculture students and professionals in the agriculture industry, attend state and national FFA events or work with the Block and Bridle club practice showmanship, judge contests and exhibit livestock at regional shows.
