Designing on the Edge
Explore the interface between the built and natural environments and learn how design can enhance our quality of life by making the natural world more present.
Art & Design
Mood Boards are a collage of photography, color, texture and found objects used by creative professionals to explore and present visual concepts and story ideas. Students attending this session will have the choice of using either digital (Adobe Photoshop) or analog means (cut and paste) to create a mood board that expresses a particular theme, look and feel.
Interior Design is about placemaking. It is also about creativity, problem-solving and storytelling through space, color, light, texture and much more. Materials and products sourced with ingenuity and responsibility are an important component of interior design. Utilizing upcycled design resources, you will create a public space that and meets the needs of the people who frequent it and showcases their identity.
Rain as a Garden; Harvesting the Rainwater Around You
Rain gardens are used around the world to create more sustainable landscapes. Discover the possibilities for collecting and using rain water as the focal feature of your landscape. You will learn how to estimate the amount of water that can be collected from a rooftop, how to size storage for the water, and how to design a landscape that features the collected rainwater.
Virtual Technology and Design
Virtual World Building 101
