Student Types Defined
First-Year students are those applying to a Bachelor level program directly from high school/secondary school who have not earned/attempted college level credits after high school graduation.
Transfer students are those applying to a Bachelor level program after earning/attempting college level credits after high school/secondary school graduation.
Graduate students are those who have earned a bachelor-level/baccalaureate degree and now wish to pursue a program at a higher level, such as a master’s or doctorate.
Law students are those who have earned a bachelor-level/baccaluareate degree and are applying to U-Idaho’s College of Law.
- Dual Credit students are those who are currently enrolled in high school who wish to take college courses prior to high school graduation.
- Non-degree seeking students are those who wish to enroll in courses pertaining to their personal interest and who do not intend to pursue a degree at U-Idaho at this time.
- Returning students are those who attended U-Idaho more than two years ago and wish to return to complete or continue their studies.
- ALCP students are those who wish to enroll only for intensive English language training in U-Idaho’s American Language and Culture Program.
