Academic Leader Online: An academic journal discussing the academic evaluation of programs and leadership. This is only available in print.

Academy of Management Learning and Education: The Academy of Management Learning & Education (AMLE) advances the knowledge and practice of management learning and education. It does so by publishing theoretical models and reviews, qualitative and quantitative research, critique, exchanges, and retrospectives on any substantive topic that is conceived with, and draws implications for, how managers learn and the educational process and context.

Across the Disciplines: Across the Disciplines, a refereed journal devoted to language, learning, and academic writing, publishes articles relevant to writing and writing pedagogy in all their intellectual, political, social, and technological complexity.

Active Learning in Higher Education: Active Learning in Higher Education is an international, peer reviewed publication for all those who teach and support learning in higher education and those who undertake or use research into effective learning, teaching and assessment in universities and colleges.

American Behavioral Scientist: A valuable source of information for scholars, researchers, professionals, and students, providing in-depth perspectives on intriguing contemporary topics throughout the social and behavioral sciences. Each issue offers comprehensive analysis of a single topic, examining such important and diverse arenas as sociology, international and U.S. politics, behavioral sciences, communication and media, economics, education, ethnic and racial studies, terrorism, and public service.

American Educational Research Journal: The American Educational Research Journal publishes original empirical and theoretical studies and analyses in education that constitute significant contributions to the understanding and/or improvement of educational processes and outcomes.

American Journal of Education: The Journal seeks to bridge and integrate the intellectual, methodological, and substantive diversity of educational scholarship, and to encourage a vigorous dialogue between educational scholars and practitioners.

Business Communication Quarterly: Business Communication Quarterly (BCQ) is a quarterly, peer-reviewed journal devoted to the teaching of business communication. It aims to present the many interdisciplinary, international, and organizational perspectives that characterize the field.

College Composition and Communication: College Composition and Communication publishes research and scholarship in rhetoric and composition studies that supports college teachers in reflecting on and improving their practices in teaching writing and that reflects the most current scholarship and theory in the field.

Community College Journal of Research and Practice: The only two-year college journal that is international in scope and purpose, Community College Journal of Research and Practice is published twelve times per volume year. The journal is a multidisciplinary forum for researchers and practitioners in higher education and the behavioral and social sciences. It promotes an increased awareness of community college issues by providing an exchange of ideas, research, and empirically tested educational innovations.

Community College Journal: The Community College Journal features articles by leading experts, opinions that put the news in perspective, coverage of higher education issues, and profiles of the field's leaders.

Community Development Journal: Community Development Journal adopts a broad definition of community development to include policy, planning and action as they impact on the life of communities. It seeks to publish critically focused articles which challenge received wisdom, report and discuss innovative practices, and relate issues of community development to questions of social justice, diversity and environmental sustainability.

Community, Work & Family: Community, work and family explores the links between community, work and family that have generated widespread interdisciplinary interest, which this journal draws together with a focus on theory, research, policy and practice. The Journal provides a forum for social scientists and practitioners to share experiences and ideas and debate current issues and controversies.

Economic Development Quarterly: Economic Development Quarterly (EDQ) is the one journal that effectively bridges the gap between academics, policy makers, and practitioners and links the various economic development communities. Although geared to North American economic development and revitalization, international perspectives are welcome and encouraged.

Education and Urban Society: Education and Urban Society (EUS) is a multidisciplinary journal that examines the role of education as a social institution in an increasingly urban and multicultural society. To this end, EUS publishes articles exploring the functions of educational institutions, policies, and processes in light of national concerns for improving the environment of urban schools that seek to provide equal educational opportunities for all students

Education, Citizenship, and Social Justice: Education, Citizenship and Social Justice provides a strategic forum for international and multi-disciplinary dialogue for all academic educators and educational policy-makers concerned with the meanings and form of citizenship and social justice as these are realized throughout the time spent in educational institutions.

Education Digest, The: The Education Digest provides teachers, administrators, and students with articles on trends in education; insights and ideas; and analysis of new programs, policies, and practices.

Educational Policy: Educational Policy provides an interdisciplinary forum for improving education in primary and secondary schools, as well as in high education and non school settings. Educational Policy blends the best of educational research with the world of practice, making it valuable resource for educators, policy makers, administrators, researchers, teachers, and graduate students

Educational Psychology Review: Peer-reviewed integrative papers in the field of general educational psychology; learning, cognition, measurement, motivation, individual differences, school-related counseling and development, the history of educational psychology and thematic issues.

Education Week: Editorial Projects in Education is the independent, nonprofit publisher of Education Week and other high-quality print and online products on K-12 education. EPE's mission is to raise awareness and understanding of critical issues facing American schools.

Equity & Excellence in Education: Equity & Excellence in Education publishes articles based on scholarly research utilizing qualitative or quantitative methods, as well as essays that describe and assess practical efforts to achieve educational equity and are contextualized within an appropriate literature review. We consider manuscripts on a range of topics related to equity, equality and social justice in K-12 or postsecondary schooling, and that focus upon social justice issues in school systems, individual schools, classrooms, and/or the social justice factors that contribute to inequality in learning for students from diverse social group backgrounds.

Human Rights Quarterly: The Quarterly provides up-to-date information on important developments within the United Nations and regional human rights organizations, both governmental and non-governmental. It presents current work in human rights research and policy analysis, reviews of related books, and philosophical essays probing the fundamental nature of human rights as defined by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Intervention in School and Clinic: Intervention in School and Clinic (ISC) equips teachers and clinicians with hands-on tips, techniques, methods, and ideas for improving assessment, instruction, and management for individuals with learning disabilities or behavior disorders. Articles focus on curricular, instructional, social, behavioral, assessment, and vocational strategies and techniques that have a direct application to the classroom settings.

Harvard Educational Review: The Harvard Educational Review is a scholarly journal of opinion and research in education. It provides an interdisciplinary forum for discussion and debate about the field's most vital issues.

Higher Education Perspectives: Higher Education Perspectives (HEP) is a peer reviewed journal that examines all aspects of higher education, with a focus on Canada. Topics and themes include management and governance of universities and community colleges, and the internationalization and globalization of research, curricula, student body and professoriate. Other themes include academic freedom, tenure, differentiation, and history of higher education, issues around professional education and the higher education in the Canadian context.

Journal of Adolescence: The Journal of Adolescence is an international, broad based, cross-disciplinary journal that addresses issues of professional and academic importance concerning development between puberty and the attainment of adult status within society. It provides a forum for all who are concerned with the nature of adolescence, whether involved in teaching, research, guidance, counseling, treatment, or other services.

Journal of the American Planning Association: For more than 70 years, the quarterly Journal of the American Planning Association has published research, commentaries, and book reviews useful to practicing planners, policy makers, scholars, students, and citizens of urban, suburban, and rural areas. 

Journal of Excellence in Teaching, The: The Journal on Excellence in College Teaching is a peer-reviewed journal published at Miami University by and for faculty at universities and two- and four-year colleges to increase student learning through effective teaching, interest in and enthusiasm for the profession of teaching, and communication among faculty about their classroom experiences.

Journal of Higher Education: Founded in 1930, The Journal of Higher Education (JHE) is the leading scholarly journal on the institution of higher education. Articles combine disciplinary methods with critical insight to investigate issues important to faculty, administrators, and program managers.

Journal of Innovative Higher Education: Innovative Higher Education presents fresh ideas in higher education in a straightforward and readable fashion. The journal features descriptions and evaluations of current innovations and provocative new ideas with relevance for action beyond the immediate context in higher education. It also focuses on the effect of such innovations on teaching and students.

Journal of Multicultural Counseling and Development: This journal is concerned with research, theory and program applications pertinent to multicultural and ethnic minority interests in all areas of counseling and human development.

Journal of Studies in International Education: This journal publishes research, essays, and reviews on international education. Articles place issues at the primary, secondary, higher education, professional exchange, and lifelong learning levels in a global context. Topics include: study abroad; curriculum reform; faculty development; and development assistance.

Journal of Youth and Adolescence: Journal of Youth and Adolescence provides a single, high-level medium of communication for psychologists, psychiatrists, biologists, criminologists, educators, and professionals in many other allied disciplines who address the subject of youth and adolescence.

Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Quarterly: Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Quarterly (NVSQ) is an international, interdisciplinary journal for nonprofit sector research dedicated to enhancing our knowledge of nonprofit organizations, philanthropy, and voluntarism by providing cutting-edge research, discussion, and analysis of the field.

Phi Delta Kappan: The newsletter support education, particularly public education, as the cornerstone of democracy. Its vision is to be the experts in cultivating great educators for tomorrow while continuing to ensure high-quality education for today.

Radical Teacher: Radical Teacher is an independent magazine for educational workers at all levels and in every kind of institution. The magazine focuses on critical teaching practice, the political economy of education, and institutional struggles.

School Community Journal, The: The School Community Journal includes research and field reports related to the school as a community of teachers, students, parents, and staff. Parent involvement, family-school relations, site-based management, sociology of education, systems theory, the classroom community, and other topics are covered. The school can function as a thriving community!

Urban Education: Get hard-hitting, focused analyses of critical concerns facing inner-city schools in Urban Education. For almost 40 years, Urban Education has provided thought-provoking commentary on key issues from gender-balanced and racially diverse perspectives.

Youth and Society: For thirty-five years, Youth & Society has provided educators, counselors, researchers, and policy makers with the latest research and scholarship in this dynamic field. This valuable resource examines critical contemporary issues and presents vital, practical information for studying and working with young people today.

Online Publications and Websites

Academic Exchange Quarterly: Contributes to the effective instruction and learning regardless of level or subject. In addition to faculty, our primary authorship group, we accept submissions co-authored by graduate students and professors.

ADE Bulletin: The Association of Departments of English (ADE) is an association of departments of English, writing programs, and divisions of humanities.

Art Education: This dynamic community of practice is where visual arts teachers, scholars, researchers and professors, students, administrators, and art museum educators, and artists come together around a shared belief in the power of the arts in developing human potential.

CIRCLE: CIRCLE (The Center for Information and Research on Civic Learning and Engagement) conducts research on the civic and political engagement of young Americans.

Cityscape: A Journal of Policy Development and Research: the goal of Cityscape is to bring high-quality original research on housing and community development issues to scholars, government officials, and practitioners. Cityscape is open to all relevant disciplines, including architecture, consumer research, demography, economics, engineering, ethnography, finance, geography, law, planning, political science, public policy, regional science, sociology, statistics, and urban studies.

Community Literacy Journal: The Community Literacy Journal publishes both scholarly work that contributes to the field’s emerging methodologies and research agendas and work by literacy workers, practitioners, and community literacy program staff. We are especially committed to presenting work done in collaboration between academics and community members.

Evaluation Exchange, The: The Evaluation Exchange is a periodical that contains new lessons and emerging strategies for evaluating programs and policies, particularly those focused on children, families, and communities.

Campus Compact
Campus Compact advances the public purposes of colleges and universities by deepening their ability to improve community life and to educate students for civic and social responsibility. Sample course syllabi are available on this site.

National Youth Leadership Council 
For more than two decades, NYLC has led a movement linking youths, educators, and communities to redefine the roles of young people in society.

National Service Learning Clearinghouse Service-learning information, curriculum ideas, getting started, and impacts are highlighted. This program is transitioning and is currently managed through the National Youth Leadership Council.
