New Student FAQs

  • So you're admitted, now what?
We are glad that you have chosen to join us as a new undergraduate student! Part of our job here at the Academic Advising is to connect students with the appropriate campus resources.

Once a new student has been admitted to the University the next step is to be advised by an academic advisor. You will need to prepare for advising. Academic advisors are assigned by major. (Note: if you have changed your mind about what you plan to major in, you can contact Undergraduate Admissions up until the first day of classes to request a change.) Each department has a contact person to help students reach their advisors. Check out the List of Advising Contacts by Department to find yours.
  • After advising, what's next?
Once a new student has met or spoken with his or her advisor, the advisor will remove the advisor hold/registration block and the student will be able to login to VandalWeb and register for classes. There are instructions for using VandalWeb registration available if you need some help.
  • Questions about financial aid, VandalMail, or paying for college?
