REGIONAL BENEFITS:

Research to improve Idaho’s crops. The University of Idaho Research and Extension Center at Aberdeen and the Tetonia Research Farm work to advance the state’s production of potatoes, wheat, barley sugarbeets, alfalfa, canola and other crops grown in eastern Idaho.

Grazing studies to improve rangeland management. Established in partnership with the Bureau of Land Management, the 7,000-acre Lee A. Sharp Experimental Area near Malta conducts internationally recognized research on livestock grazing management of crested wheatgrass.
 
Strong tribal partnerships. The University’s federally recognized Tribes Extension Program works in partnership with the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes in the areas of livestock health and reproduction programs, range and natural resource management, including noxious weed mapping and control.
