An award-winning partnership with the Coeur d’Alene Tribe. The University is reducing poverty and achieving prosperity in the reservation communities of Worley, Plummer, Tensed and Desmet. The program, which helped the tribe win $2.5 million for wastewater treatment and affordable housing, won the prestigious C. Peter Magrath University/Community Engagement Award and was a finalist for the national award.

Work at the University of Idaho Research Park (UIRP) in Post Falls is leading research and partnerships in the fields of computer software and hardware, microelectronics and molecular biology. The UIRP will house the Idaho Laboratory of Applied Science and Research (LASR), a new University-affiliated program that will foster applied research, technology transfer and private-sector partnerships.
