Take The Steps to Succeed
University Housing is proud to announce that our Fall 2014 MAP-Works assessment is now available for first year students to complete.
First-year students may take the MAP-Works assessment between September 15-29. Assessments will be emailed to students through their Vandal Email accounts.
Be the first hall to have 100% completion (all students take the survey and review their assessment with a Residence Life staff member) and win a free catered meal for your entire hall!
There will also be 50 prizes given away through drawings!
MAP-Works: Supporting Students
This program supports students throughout their first-year at the University of Idaho by providing an individual assessment of each student’s strengths and areas for growth throughout the year in the following categories:
- Academic Integration
- Social Integration
- Entering Skills and Abilities
- Expectations of their college experience
Students will receive an email with a link to the first MAP-Works assessment. Once the assessment is complete, students will receive an individualized report containing:
- Strategies for a successful first year at the University of Idaho
- Information on how students answers relate to their peers' responses
- Contact information for campus resources that may increase their success this year
The MAP-Works assessment will notify University Housing of students who may be struggling with their academic and social transition into the University of Idaho. This will enable staff members to work with students in finding campus resources beneficial to helping them succeed. The staff of University Housing is here to help students be academically and personally successful at the University of Idaho. The MAP-Works initiative is one way that we strive to accomplish this goal.
