Student
Theatre Organization
Mission
The Student Theater Organization was created to give students
interested in theatre a time and place to create. We perform many
roles through which we are able to construct a theatre arts educational
experience for students of all ages and majors. STO serves as
a liaison between faculty and students. The organization also
organizes fundraisers and activities to help cover the cost of
travel to the annual Northwest Drama Conference.
One of our department’s standing philosophies is that "you
can do great theater on any budget," and it is because of
this STO is able to serve as our student theater production company
so well. We produce student written, experimental plays open to
the participation of anyone. As theatre students, we realize that
our educational experience is not solely related to what our university
is able to give us. We, as a student body, are able to come together
as cast and crew and recognize the importance of supporting each
other’s hopes, dreams, and artistic endeavors in all shapes
and forms. |
