MACBETH is a story of treachery and bloodlust steeped in illusion, fantasy, and mystery. It is the dark tragedy of a warrior-poet whose drive for power is fueled by supernatural prophecy and an ambitious wife. By murdering the king and taking the crown for himself, he unleashes dark forces that lead to his wife's madness and his own violent death. Shakespeare's Macbeth is a cautionary tale of the repercussions of violence in the pursuit of power
