Academic Program Prioritization
The
University of Idaho is assessing its academic programs to ensure we have the right programs to complement our advancement and our mission, and to shape and fortify our institution for the future. We are identifying areas of programming for strategic investment, and by implication, identifying areas to de-emphasize (e.g., to disinvest in, transform, or maintain at status quo). Former Interim President Daley-Laursen asked that the University undertake and complete this important process at an accelerated pace in Fall, 2008. The Provost’s Council identified and the Faculty Senate approved criteria for assessing programs, and we are fine-tuning our steps and timeline for making program decisions. Program recommendations will be worked through Faculty Senate and the State Board of Education in Spring - Summer, 2009.
