Repair and Maintenance

No Dial Tone
  1. Make sure the phone cord is plugged into the phone and into the wall.
  2. If your telephone has a power cord, make sure that it is plugged into the phone and into the wall.
  3. Replace the phone with another analog phone. If the replacement phone works, you probably need a new phone. See “Telephone & Equipment” on our main page for a list of phones available through us. These phones can be delivered to your office.
No Display
  1. Make sure that the power cord is plugged into the phone and the wall.

Voice Mail Light

Light Does Not Come On
The message waiting light does not come on when you have new messages.
  1. Call Telephone Services to see if your telephone line is set up for “visual” message service.
Note: Not all message waiting lights are compatible with our telephone switch. Even if your telephone  has a light, it may not work with our system. You may have to listen for an audible tone as an indicator of new Voice Mail messages.

Light Stays On
Voice Mail message indicator light stays on but you do not have any new messages.
  1. Unplug the phone for 1 minute. Plug the phone back in. If the light is still on go to step 2.
  2. Call your number and leave yourself a test Voice Mail message, press # twice, hang up.
  3. Then dial 5-0086 to access Voice Mail and listen to the test message.
  4. Press 3, to delete the message.
  5. Then press the “*” key 3 times. Voice Mail will respond with “thank you”, hang up. Using this method to exit resets the system and ensures optimal performance.
Static
  1. Wiggle the handset cord back and forth. If the static stops when you quit moving the cord, then you probably need a replacement handset cord. We can deliver a cord to your office. Fill out the Purchase Phones/Cords form under Telephones & Equipment on our web site.
  2. Or call Telephone Services at 885-5800 if the static persists.
