For Mentors
Information for Undergraduate Student Mentors
Student mentors receive a $100 scholarship each semester!A special requirement for student mentors is that they must enroll in SOC 316/PSYC 317: Exploring Mentoring and Leadership during the Fall semester. Taught by Women's Center staff, this 3-credit interdisciplinary course combines theory, practical application, and activities to enrich student peer mentoring relationships. The course takes place every week on Wednesdays from 4:00pm-5:50pm.
During spring semester, student mentors continue to regularly meet with their mentee. They are strongly encouraged to attend mentoring program group events, as well as campus and community functions, with their mentee. We also offer the option to enroll in a 1-credit Advanced Mentoring and Leadership course, which requires student mentors to continue their mentoring relationship, attend Women's Mentoring Program group events, complete program assessments, and write a final reflection paper.
