Colleen Kulesza

I originally hail from Wareham, Massachusetts, grew up in Broomfield, Colorado and have worked in California, Louisiana, and Illinois as an Environmental Educator. I am currently a doctoral student in the College of Natural Resources. I have always been a feminist and am excited to be able to combine my love of the outdoors with my interest in gender in my graduate research.

I am studying women who hunt and how they have been portrayed in hunting magazines over the last 50 years. My career goal is to write a book and teach natural resources and/or gender studies at a college. I decided to work as an intern at the Women's Center as I have become more active in my feminism and saw it as a great opportunity to learn more about the inner-workings of a university based women's center. When I am not working or writing my dissertation, I like hunting, fishing, camping, reading, blogging, crochet, crafting and hanging out with my amazing pup, Luna and my two cats Otis and Alice.
