Women struggle daily against a sort of invisibility in most cultures. Our presence as thinkers, activists, artists - intellectual creators - too often is minimized, repackaged or simply ignored, while our physical qualities are examined and judged microscopically. Historically, the story of woman is one that is told and retold by men.
Yin Radio offers opportunities for women to write, host and produce -- encouraging women through outreach and university internships to enter all forms of media. I graduated in December from UI with a B.S. in Sociology/minor in Psychology and the Certificate of Diversity and Stratification. I'm excited to apply all that theory to my work at the Women's Center, a safe place for people of all persuasions where feminist ideals and inclusive thinking is the norm.
When I’m at home, I love spending time listening to music and progressive talk radio on KRFP 92.5 FM, Moscow's community radio station. I love exploring the Oregon coast with my partner, Alan. My two children, Lex and Sam, are my best and biggest teachers. Be sure to say hi when you stop by the Women's Center, and let me know if you want to learn more about Yin Radio.
